Paris Saint-Germain are retaining a slim hope of bringing in Milan Škriniar before the end of the transfer window, according to L’Équipe tonight – although any deal will hinge on the Nerazzurri finding a replacement in time.
The Ligue 1 leaders had been pessimistic over the chances of anticipating the Slovakian international’s arrival – he will sign on a free transfer this summer in any case, having turned down Inter’s contract renewal offers – but Inter’s efforts in the last few hours to sign a replacement have given them renewed hope.
The Serie A side are looking to sign Atalanta’s Merih Demiral, but only have just over an hour to complete the deal, given that the Italian window ends at 8pm local time. Should a deal for the Turkish defender go through, PSG will then have three hours to formulate a second offer, with Inter having been holding out for a €20m fee throughout the week.
