The first photos of Alicia Vikander as the iconic Lara Croft have arrived, and we are so here for it.

The Ex Machina star looks fierce as ever as Croft and is definitely down to get dirty kicking ass and taking names. Her ensemble is a slight departure from the original Lara Croft look as made famous by Angelina Jolie. Instead of tiny Spandex shorts that leave way too much skin exposed to the elements, Vikander sports cargo pants—a sensible outfit choice for fighting mythical beings. Need a knife? Got one here in my pant pocket. A pick ax? Readily available as well.

The new Tomb Raider follows Croft before she earns her “tomb raider” title, as she sets out on a mission to find out what really happened to her father, who disappeared without a trace seven years before the film takes place. “Going explicitly against [her father’s] final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of [his] last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan,” reads a press release from Warner Bros.

“The stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith, and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown.” Sounds intriguing, and we’re always down for serious girl power in a major movie.
