Is nothing sacred in the world of contouring? Last week people were freaking out over some girl contouring her neck (ugh), and now, Kylie Jenner just dropped a bomb on her extremely devoted fans: She contours her ears. When will it stop?

In a new video on her website, Jenner enlists one of her makeup artists, Hrush Achemyan, to detail every step of a look she calls the "smokey rockstar" (which is basically your typical smoky eye). Achemyan starts with creating Jenner's face. This includes your usual foundation, highlighter, and concealer. Everything seems to be going smoothly in the video until we get to the contouring section. After Achemyan works on her cheeks, nose, forehead, and jawline, Jenner butts in with, "Oh yeah, I like when you do my ears." And that's when the record scratched for us. Yup, Jenner asks her makeup artist to contour her ears.

Achemyan is completely on board. "Actually, it's a really good tip that a lot of people don't do," she says. "Because it's really not cute when you're on the red carpet, or you get snapped and then your face is one color, and the ears are different. It shows, like, the tone is not really your skin tone and you have on a lot of foundation. Just like your neck, your ears are a part of your face." She then proceeds to brush contour in and around Jenner's ears.

We repeat: Ear contouring is a real thing that Kylie Jenner does. You might remember Jenner's New Year's resolution to wear less makeup: "I just want to take my nails off, no hair, no makeup. It's too much to maintain, sometimes," she says. Maybe you can start by dropping the whole ear contour thing? But to each his own.
