With cards everywhere and Moana Pasifika leading against the Australians, the Force had the ball in attack, mauling into the visitors’ 22 before the ball was played out, and a sumptuous long ball by Bryce Hegarty opened up the space on the outside for a simple draw and pass for Poolman to score in the corner.
It was an absolutely crucial try for the Western Force.

Earlier on, it was Moana Pasifika who sprinted out of the blocks with a first minute try for Fine Inisi, which Lincoln McClutchie converted.
The hosts responded with a penalty in the fourth minute that was cancelled out by McClutchie, who kicked one of his own five minutes later. However, Hegarty would take to the tee again in the 15th minute to add three more to the leaderboard.

In the 35th minute, Moana’s Suentena Asomua was sin-binned, opening the door for a Folau Fainga’a try, complete with a Hegarty conversion.
The scores would not change until the break, and only six minutes into the second stanza, Moana’s Mike McKee was sent off with his yellow card being upgraded to red. The Force would only have a numerical advantage for four minutes before Santiago Medrano received a yellow card of his own.
McClutchie added three more from the tee in the 56th minute before the hosts were restored to a full complement, and Poolman would score his key try as Hegarty failed to kick the conversion from the touchline, levelling the scores at 18-18.
The hosts would get two yellow cards in the last 10 minutes as Olliver Callan, and replacement Siosifa Amone, were sent for an early shower.
Despite being two players down, the Force managed to earn a scrum deep in Moana territory after a missed penalty attempt from Hegarty. The hosts scrum bravely, winning the penalty, and the fly-half nailed the simple kick to win the game for his team.
