France Football report that 21-year-old left-footed central defender and French free agent Malang Sarr is in touch with Catalan giants FC Barcelona about a possible transfer.

A free agent since leaving OGC Nice at the end of June, Sarr has received an impressive contract offer from Serie A side Torino and has been recently approached by FCB through Director of Football Éric Abidal, whose future is unclear after the sacking of coach Quique Setien.

Multiple English sides have made contact with his entourage in coming days, although Sarr appears to like the idea of waiting for the Barcelona situation to clarify before making an eventual decision.

The project that Abidal spoke to him about would have seen Sarr receive playing minutes with the Catalan club’s first team immediately during the 2020/21 campaign.
