— As noted in a recent WWE article, Samoa Joe injured his foot on Raw this week and was pulled from the Mixed Match Challenge as a result. The treatment as per the article was crutches, a walking boot and platelet rich plasma injections.
— While WWE has not publicly indicated how long Joe will be out of action, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that he could be sidelined for as little as two weeks or as much as two months. That would mean that he will be good to go for WrestleMania 34 for sure, but his participation in the Royal Rumble is now up in the air. The fact that he was pulled from the MMC so quickly seems to not bode well for his recovery as WWE could have conceivably delayed his opening match in that competition for several weeks, at which time he may have been recovered.
— It is also bad timing for Joe because he was penciled in for a program with John Cena and Roman Reigns for all the major post-Rumble house shows leading to WrestleMania.
