As previously reported, current IMPACT World Champion Austin Aries made a surprise appearance at Friday night’s ROH 16th Anniversary pay-per-view. The self-proclaimed “Greatest Man That Ever Lived” made a very clear challenge to ROH World Television Champion Kenny King, claiming that he was coming for the gold.
According to PWInsider.com, Aries made IMPACT Wrestling management aware of his booking with ROH ahead of time, and the company was apparently very supportive of the idea. So much so that they actually encouraged him to take the IMPACT World Championship with him.
The report goes on to state that there was never any direct communication between ROH and IMPACT officials, but those in IMPACT are hopeful this is the start to a better relationship between the two.
Right now the plan is for Austin Aries to face Kenny King for the ROH World Television title at Supercard of Honor next month. We should get an official announcement in the next few days, but the pay-per-view shouldn’t conflict with any of his already announced bookings during WrestleMania week. The recently announced IMPACT vs. Lucha Underground event takes place the day before.
That’s how you make an honorable impact…#thetruth #tgmtel #thebeltcollector
