— In addition to Ricky Ortiz, WWE released developmental wrestler Vic Adams last week. The official website of Florida Championship Wrestling updated his picture last week, but it has since been removed. He is a big powerhouse wrestler who had the look WWE liked when he was signed to a developmental contract early last year. He previously went under the name Janus around the Carolina indy scene.

Besides Adams, Ricky Ortiz’ picture was also removed from the FCW roster section.

— Steve Keirn, who oversees Florida Championship Wrestling, said a whopper at this past weekend’s NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest in Charlotte while on hand to induct Jackie Fargo into the Hall of Legends. At the convention, people were telling him UFC was pulling fans away from WWE. In response, he said UFC was a fad and would be out of business within five years. He said the UFC will die and that would be the end of it.

— WWE is trying to trademark the “Celtic Warrior” name for Sheamus, but in a possible cause of conflict, UFC fighter Marcus Davis has prior usage to it. The name was popularized in the 1990s by Irish boxer Steve Collins.
