Kairi Sane and Bianca Belair fight for momentum before Fatal 4-Way

Two days before they join NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler and Io Shirai in an every-woman-for-herself Fatal 4-Way Match for the title at TakeOver: New York, Kairi Sane and Bianca Belair will meet in singles action this week on WWE Network. NXT General Manager William Regal announced the match on Twitter, in response to Belair’s backstage confrontation with Sane on the March 20 edition of NXT.

The last time that The Pirate Princess squared off with The EST of NXT on WWE Network, it resulted in one of the most unforgettable matches of the inaugural Mae Young Classic. Since then, both Superstars have only grown as competitors, with Sane now a former NXT Women’s Champion and Belair adopting an un-de-fea-ted mindset that has propelled her to new heights. Given the stakes of TakeOver: New York’s Fatal 4-Way Match, it’s safe to assume that the ruthless Queen of Spades — not to mention, Shirai — will keep a close eye on this one.

Find out which Superstar will build momentum en route to Friday’s championship match when the high-flying Pirate Princess and the powerful EST of NXT throw down this Wednesday on the award-winning WWE Network.

Did someone order a slobberknocker?

Pure, scientific wrestling technique will be in limited supply when two of NXT’s most bellicose bruisers, Oney Lorcan and The Forgotten Sons’ Jaxson Ryker, collide this week.

Lorcan might be 205 Live’s newest Cruiserweight, but the Boston butcher still has plenty of items on his NXT agenda, including evening the score with The Forgotten Sons. After all, Ryker’s teammates in the faction, Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake, were responsible for eliminating Lorcan and tag team partner Danny Burch in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic –a fact that no doubt rankles the Brit-Am brawlers.

While Lorcan is a fistic fighter who prides himself on being ready to throw down anytime, anywhere, against any opponent, the path to victory will be anything but easy considering Ryker’s incredible power and vicious mean streak. Both attributes have contributed to the heavy hitter’s undefeated streak on NXT TV.

Will Lorcan be the first Superstar to pin Ryker’s shoulders to the mat, or will Ryker’s path of destruction lead him to the winner’s circle yet again?

The War Raiders warm up for TakeOver: New York

NXT Tag Team Champions The War Raiders will have their work cut out for them this Friday at TakeOver: New York when they defend the titles against the highly potent combination of 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners Aleister Black & Ricochet.

In preparation for that gigantic clash, Hanson & Rowe will return to the ring this week in non-title action. The modern-day Vikings have shredded the competition since day one in NXT, but with the first major challenge to their title reign fast approaching, you’d better believe The War Raiders plan on sending an emphatic message to The Dutch Destroyer and The One and Only two days before TakeOver.
