Kenny Omega Out of Bullet Club, More on Jeremy Borash Joining WWE

Kenny Omega has become one of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s top stars since taking over as the leader of the Bullet Club. Unfortunately, there has been tension between himself and fellow member Cody for months now. Their rivalry was finally ignited during NJPW’s New Beginnings event when Omega lost the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship to Jay White. Cody began to speak with Omega in the ring until he shockingly attacked him and then hit him with the Cross Rhodes. Adam Page attempted to help Cody attack Omega, but Omega’s old tag team partner Kota Ibushi came down to the ring and made the save. Omega and Ibushi then embraced in the ring.

It was recently reported that WWE has signed longtime Impact Wrestling announcer Jeremy Borash. Borash had been working for Impact since 2002, and he has constantly been regarded as one of the most influential individuals in the promotion’s history. In fact, he had continued to work behind the scenes and as an on-air personality in the company up until recently. PWInsider says that Impact was hoping to transition Josh Matthews away from the announce booth and have him continue to work alongside Matt Sydal. This would have seen Borash and Don Callis take over as the announce team for Impact, but those plans have now obviously been changed.
At first, it was unknown as Borash’s new position in WWE would be, but a new report from PWInsider has specified what he will be doing in the company. Borash was reportedly hired by Triple H to work for NXT. There is no word on whether or not he will appear on TV or when he will start his work with WWE, but it does not look like Borash will be working on the “Woken” Matt Hardy storyline as some had speculated due to his role in producing the original “Broken Universe” segments. Several Impact segments featuring Borash have been taped and will be airing soon over the next few weeks. In the meantime, expect see Jeremy Borash’s influence over the WWE developmental system begin to take shape very soon.
