SmackDown ratings were up two percent this week, coming in at 2.135 million viewers. That tied the June 26 episode for the third-lowest number so far in 2018.
Last night’s episode had tough competition from game four of the ALDS playoff series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, which averaged 7.147 million viewers to top the cable ratings. SmackDown finished ninth overall on cable, trailing baseball-related programming as well as news shows. It finished second in the 18-49 demo with a 0.67 rating, trailing only baseball.
SmackDown retained just over 90 percent of the Raw audience the night before, which was up from recent weeks as well. Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 13 percent from the same week in 2017.
After starting the year up from 2017 totals more often than not, the show has now had a year-over-year drop in 20 of the last 21 weeks.
