LAS VEGAS, Nev. — North Dakota State University 165-pounder Andrew Fogarty placed fifth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Bison were in 18th place in the team standings with 43 points.

North Dakota State (0-3, 0-2 #Big12WR) is scheduled to wrestle No. 19-ranked Central Michigan in a non-conference dual at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, in Scheels Center. The program will recognize the 1988 and 1998 NCAA Division II national championship teams.

Fogarty, a redshirt sophomore from Jordan, Minn. (Scott West H.S.), received a medical forfeit win against No. 3 Logan Massa of Michigan. He recorded a takedown, 4-point nearfall for a 6-0 lead with 1:18 left in the first period against No. 8 Anthony Valencia of Arizona State. Fogarty posted a 7-4 decision to advance.

In the consolation semifinals, No. 7 Te’Shan Campbell of Ohio State recorded an 11-0 major decision over Fogarty, who won by medical forfeit against No. 9 Nick Wanzek of Minnesota in the fifth-place match.

Fogarty put together a 7-2 record at the tournament and improved to 17-5 overall.

North Dakota State 125-pound redshirt freshman Paul Bianchi dropped a 12-1 major decision to Oklahoma’s Christian Moody, while No. 12 157-pounder Clay Ream lost a wild 19-14 decision to Cal State-Bakersfield’s Coleman Hammond. Bianchi went 4-2 in the tournament and is 8-5 overall, while Ream was 2-2 and now 8-3.
