The Clarets travel to the Karaiskakis Stadium to take on the Greek side in the first leg of the Europa League play-offs
Premier League side Burnley face Greece’s Olympiakos in the first leg of the Europa League play-off round.
The Clarets are the away side for the opener and a win would boost their chances of qualifying for the group stages ahead of the reverse fixture at Turf Moor on Thursday August 30.
Olympiakos finished third last season in the Greek Super League after winning seven league titles in a row from 2011 to 2017 and will prove tough competition for Sean Dyche’s side.
Burnley beat Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir 1-0 on aggregate after a win at Turf Moor during their third round qualifying game and are just two games away from a group stage berth.

Burnley starting XI: Heaton, Bardsley, Long, Gibson, Ward, Gudmundsson, Cork, Hendrick, Taylor, Barnes, Wood.
The home side, Olympiakos are firm favourites to win this leg at 13/20 , while Burnley are priced at 9/2 . A draw is available at 13/5 with Bet365.
Burnley head into the match on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Watford at home and will be hoping to bounce back in what has so far been a fruitful European campaign in 2018-19.
“We want to take on the challenge. We’ve made that clear,” Dyche told reporters ahead of the game.
“It’s good for me as a manager, who continues to learn and it’s good for the group. You want to look back on your career and know you have experienced as many things as possible, it’s good from that side of things.
“There is a demand on us, more from the travelling and the slight time change. That’s the biggest challenge so far.”
On home turf, Olympiakos have a 100 per cent winning record in all European games. While Burnley are unbeaten in all four games under Dyche including keeping a clean sheet in their two legs against Istanbul Basaksehir.
