WATCH: Fans cheer as Tom Curry deals with protester after MASSIVE HIT during Premiership Final

Cheers rang around Twickenham during the Premiership final between Saracens and Sale Sharks as Tom Curry escorted a protester off the pitch.

There was a brief stoppage in play in the 20th minute as protesters charged onto the famous pitch.

Thankfully, the players and security were wise to it and swiftly dealt with the nuisance.

With the scores level at six apiece, Owen Farrell hung up a high kick before two protesters ran onto the pitch. One of them was tackled to the ground from behind.

The other charged around the Sale Sharks’ half of the pitch before being taken down too.

Sale Sharks’ players Jono Ross and Curry apprehended one of the protesters and helped them off the field, with Twickenham initially booing when they ran onto the field and cheering when they were swiftly dealt with.

Reaction

Sale Sharks‘ official Twitter account tweeted: “The Game has come to a stop due to protesters on the pitch. Fools.” replying, “Escorted off by a Mr Tom Curry.”

Saracens tweeted: “A stop in play here as some protesters run onto the field. Players from both teams help security to remove them. Time-off here with a lot of mess to clean up on the pitch.

Curry was praised on Twitter by fans watching the game.

One fan tweeted: “Apparently Tom Curry melted a Just stop oil protestor…. if anyone finds that footage please inject it into my veins”

“Whatever your thoughts on Just Stop Oil. Not the brightest idea to enter the pitch at the rugby final and run towards Tom Curry,” another added.

RugbyInsideLine added: “Tom Curry flattens one of the protestors! Make him England captain! Give him a knighthood!”

“Fantastic to see one of those moronic eco zealots and their silly orange powder getting man handled off the pitch.” Neil Fissler tweeted.
