OGC Nice close to deal with RB Leipzig for Jean-Kévin Augustin

L’Équipe report that 22-year-old French attacker Jean-Kévin Augustin is closing in on a move from RB Leipzig to OGC Nice.

Patrick Vieira is convinced that the French youth international is the missing piece for the club’s attacking puzzle. After reaching out to multiple individuals in the game who know him, Vieira was convinced that he has the personality required, presented to the coach as someone who is still evolving as a man and a player.

The question was then whether or not Les Aiglons could attract a striker who has Champions’ League football at RB Leipzig. The Frenchman was approached by Crystal Palace and Everton in July, but he rejected their advances, as he has been completely convinced by Vieira and Nice’s new project.

The Bundesliga club want around €20m for the striker and German sources indicate tonight that an agreement is close between the two sides.
