Speaking at a press conference to round up the club’s financial situation, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated that Jérôme Boateng has returned to the fray after being dropped last weekend.
His words transcribed in L’Équipe, Aulas indicated that the veteran German defender would be part of Peter Bosz’s squad to travel to Lens on Saturday.
The former Bayern Munich man had reportedly been absent due to several clashes with teammates throughout the season and for questioning the manager’s tactics after the defeat to Monaco.
“The manager saw Jérôme at the start of the week and reinstated him. He will be part of the squad that will play at Lens on Saturday if the week at training goes well. We’re counting on him for the end of the league season and the Europa League, for an end to the campaign which is shaping up to be fantastic for OL.”
“The manager is the one who decides. His decisions are generally very good, even if he can get it wrong sometimes as we don’t win every game. Overall, this decision didn’t affect the squad since we beat Nice.”
