Ligue 1 outfit Angers are seeking to acquire a right-back before Thursday’s summer transfer window deadline, according to L’Équipe.

Their priority target is 27-year-old French full-back Frédéric Guilbert, who is currently contracted to Premier League outfit Aston Villa until June 2023.

Le SCO are hoping to get a potential free transfer arrangement that would see AVFC allow the player to leave by mutual agreement on account of the current length of his contract.

The ex-Caen defender, who can also play centrally, is coming back hot off the heels of a loan with Strasbourg, where he made 35 appearances during the 2021/22 campaign.
