UEFA President and FIFA presidential candidate hopeful Michel Platini, whose candidacy was recently formally revoked, has officially made an appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport to overturn his 90-day suspension from all FIFA related activities.

Platini was suspended from official duties in the first place because he is part of a criminal investigation currently being undertaken by the Swiss authorities.

The hope is that if CAS approve Platini’s case for the repeal of his FIFA suspension, then he may be allowed to stand for the FIFA presidency.
