OGC Nice have told Wesley Sneijder he can leave this month

In a meeting between Dutch attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder and OGC Nice representatives, the club informed the player that he can leave this month if he finds an interesting challenge, with Les Aiglons even prepared to let him go for free, according to L’Équipe.

Nice will not necessarily push Sneijder out of the door, still competing in four competitions in 2018, but manager Lucien Favre has failed to so far find a tactical set-up that suits the Dutchman, who has been a serious flop since his arrival in Ligue 1.

The player’s agent is offering Sneijder around, including to MLS sides, with Los Angeles FC having made an enquiry.

Nice central midfielder Remi Walter is in the meantime in advanced talks with ESTAC Troyes.
