Nantes goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu looking at Besiktas move

33-year-old Nantes goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu is expected to leave the Ligue 1 club when his contract expires at the end of next month.

Our colleagues at 20 Minutes report that the Romanian international goalkeeper had been in talks with Les Canaris about a contract extension, but that discussions broke down over the length of the deal that FCN felt comfortable offering.

The player’s entourage has been in talks with Brittany rivals Rennes about a deal, but Turkish giants Besiktas are now in pole position to land the former Fiorentina shot-stopper.

Besiktas, who sit 3rd in the Turkish 1st division, could therefore be the next destination for “Tata” who has been frozen out of 1st team action since the 12th April following a breakdown in relationship between himself and manager Vahid Halilhodzic.
