L’Équipe report that 18-year-old Angers SCO left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri has been the subject of a €30m offer from an unnamed Premier League club.
A few days ago, Angers General Manager Olivier Pickeu met with Jorge Mendes, the teenager’s agent, in London on the subject of negotiations with a major English club about a January deal. In this meeting, a concrete €30m offer was conveyed to Angers for the player.
The club is a top 5 Premier League team, but their identity has yet to be unveiled. In recent past, both Manchester clubs have been after Aït-Nouri. The player is kept up to date about discussions week after week. Angers representatives are determined to make the player’s departure a club record sale.
Mendes and Pickeu have become unlikely buddies in recent years and are working together towards that goal for Le SCO.
Pickeu wants €35m in order to let the player go, and several possible scenarios have been talked through to that end. A William Saliba – Arsenal type deal that would see Aït-Nouri return on loan to Angers for some time, for example. Angers representatives would prefer not to sell the player until summer, but won’t rule a January exit out…
