L’Équipe report tonight that talks between Paris Saint-Germain and Nice over the transfer of manager Christophe Galtier have not advanced this Saturday, with Les Aiglons demanding a fee for their coach that the capital club are unwilling to pay. The amount requested has yet to be revealed.
Galtier has two left years to go on his contract with Nice, having arrived last summer after winning the title with Lille. After an initially impressive start, Nice’s season began to fall away after losing the cup final and their spot on the podium, as a rift emerged between director of football Julien Fournier and Galtier.
Foot Mercato have indicated that Lucien Favre could be set to return to the club as his replacement, in a move which is reportedly independent from PSG’s interest in Galtier.

Discussions are set to continue, though, with both parties looking to wrap the deal up as quickly as possible. For this season’s champions, sorting out the Frenchman’s arrival would signal the start of their transfer business, while for Nice it would allow them to focus on finding their new manager, and Galtier himself would be able to advance to talks with his future employer.
For PSG, a deal is also pending over the compensation Mauricio Pochettino will receive as part of his dismissal and that of his staff, as he leaves with one year left on his deal after an 18-month spell in Paris.
