DONEGAL SENIOR FOOTBALL champions Glenswilly will be graced with the presence of rugby legend Shane Williams this week for the third series of AIB’s The Toughest Trade.
The 39-year-old, who won 87 caps with Wales and played on three British and Irish Lions tours, will train with Michael Murphy’s club for the duration of his stay before taking part in a challenge game against a local rival.
Murphy is headed to France to try his hand at the oval ball with Top 14 side Clermont Auvergne.
“I’ve been to Donegal before, and it’s a lovely part of Ireland, with lovely people, so coming back is great,” said Williams, the 2008 IRB Player of the Year.
“I’ve never watched a full game of Gaelic football as such so I’m really coming into this completely new to the sport and I’m looking forward to it.
“The chance to try something completely different now that I have the time to do it is exciting, and I want to take the challenge on and see how I do.”
Williams will also spend time working at Murphy’s shop, Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure, during his week-long stay.
