It looks like the era of the recently reunited Team Hell No is going to be a short one… While Kane and Daniel Bryan were originally set to challenge for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at this evening’s WWE Extreme Rules event, plans were changed when WWE instead ran a backstage segment early in the show, with the Big Red Machine mercilessly beaten down by both of the Bludgeon Brothers.
While the title match did eventually go on as planned, the ultimate underdog Bryan was forced to work a bulk of the match in a 2-on-1 handicap situation. Kane did hobble out to the ring before the end, his foot in boot, but the damage done was too severe and the ruthless blue brand champions were able to score the victory and retain their titles.
PWInsider.com is reporting that the angle was done to write Kane out of the match, as he has suffered a legitimate foot injury and was spotted backstage wearing the walking boot before it became an element of the storyline. It’s unknown how severe the injury is, or if Team Hell No will be able to continue going forward, but we’ll likely find out more this Tuesday night on Smackdown Live.
