Jeff Jarrett Comments On His Surprise Return During Men’s Royal Rumble Match

In case you missed it, WWE Hall of Famer J-E-Double-F J-A-Double-R-E-Double-T himself, Mr. Jeff Jarrett made a surprise return to the company as the #2 entrant in Sunday night’s 30-Man Royal Rumble match.

After receiving a tremendous ovation from the live crowd, Jarrett — complete with classic ring gear throwing things back a full 20 years — mixed it up with Elias to get things started. While the Drifter originally didn’t seem to mind sharing a room with a bonafide legend, it wasn’t long before he shattered his guitar over Double J’s back.

Given that Jarrett, a former WCW World Champion and the co-founder of Impact Wrestling (formerly TNA Wrestling) was doing the obnoxious, sing-a-long guitar player gimmick a full two decades before Elias made his debut on WWE television, this special moment was something of a passing of the symbolic torch from one generation to the next.

Jarrett caught up with WWE cameras after the Rumble match, where he was unfortunately the first match eliminated. Check out the video above.

And the man who drew #2️⃣ is none other than…
