Universal Title Match Set For WWE Super Showdown, Updated Match Card

Baron Corbin has officially been named the #1 contender to the WWE Universal Championship, and will challenge Seth Rollins for the title at the upcoming WWE Super Showdown event in Saudi Arabia.

Corbin won a Fatal 4-Way match on Monday Night Raw this week that also involved Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman and The Miz, to earn his spot in the match.

For what it’s worth, while the title match has been officially announced, WWE commentary was very heavy-handed in pushing the idea that Brock Lesnar holds the Money in the Bank briefcase and can essentially void a title match at a moment’s notice.

Lesnar vs. Rollins was on the books for the Saudi Arabia show since before WrestleMania, according to multiple sources, and Corbin vs. Rollins is currently being advertised for upcoming events in June and July, so it’s possible they could make the switch on next Monday night’s go-home show.
