And the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion is… Riho!
The 22-year-old Japanese sensation defeated Nyla Rose at Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite premiere on TNT in what has to be considered a minor upset given the superior size and strength stacked against her.
Following the well-received bout, a vengeful Rose took her anger out on the new champion as well as her friend Michael Nakazawa, leaving him lying unconscious with a nasty sit-down powerbomb. “The Beast” looked to do the same to Riho, but AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega made the save before any damage could be done.

For Riho, the inaugural world champion extends her record and maintains her spot as the winningest star in the AEW women’s division. After winning a six-woman tag team match in her debut at Double or Nothing, she also won a triple threat match at Fyter Fest, and defeated Hikaru Shida at All Out to earn her championship opportunity. She is currently 4-1.
