WWE has released a statement regarding the ongoing situation with Hulk Hogan.

News broke last night that evidence that surfaced in Hogan’s ongoing lawsuit against Gawker Media showed Hogan making vile racist comments to Heather Clem, the woman involved in the sex tape at the center of the lawsuit.

After removing every trace of Hogan from the company website, WWE issued the following statement:

“WWE has terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as evidenced by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide. “
