Backstage News On Who Will Win The WWE Championship At Money In The Bank

WWE is finalizing plans for Sunday’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view and one scenario that is strongly being considered is for Randy Orton to walk out as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, according to the Figure Four Weekly Newsletter.

Orton recapturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship would set up a triple threat main event at Battleground in July, which would see Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Roman Reigns – with Cena winning the gold. From there, Cena would go on to defend against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam and Roman Reigns would face Randy Orton at the August pay-per-view .

Reigns had originally been scheduled to face Triple H at SummerSlam, but it appears that match is being pushed back to September’s Night Of Champions. This will be the first pay-per-view after the first 6-month period of the WWE Network expires, so WWE is looking to stack this show to encourage people to renew their subscriptions.

As previously reported, Brock Lesnar is also booked for Night of Champions.
