More on Brian Christopher's Death; Statements From Lawler Family & WWE

— As reported earlier today, Brian Christopher Lawler, better known in WWE during his time as “Grand Master Sexay” passed away earlier today after a suicide attempt in his jail cell. He was found unresponsive, in critical condition and was taken to hospital where he was put on life support. Family and friends were called and informed that Christopher’s outlook was bleak and that he would not make it as he was already brain dead. Life support was reportedly sustained so that his father, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler could make it to the hospital from Raleigh, NC to say his final goodbye. The official time of death is listed as 4:40 PM ET.

— The following statement was released by Kevin Lawler, Brian’s brother:

Lots of different stories and rumors about my brother today. But as of 30 minutes ago he has officially passed. I love U and will miss U my brother! A very sad day today. Words can’t describe.

— Meanwhile, WWE released the following statement:

WWE is saddened to learn that Brian Christopher Lawler, who is best known in WWE as Too Cool’s Grandmaster Sexay, has passed away. Lawler, who is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, competed during the height of the Attitude Era. WWE extends its condolences to Lawler’s family, friends and fans.
