As previously reported, it appears that not very many people knew beforehand what Roman Reigns was going to be announcing to kick off Monday’s RAW, confirms PWInsider.com. They note that only “upper tier management” was told beforehand, which would seem to imply high-ranking WWE Officials and members of The McMahon Family and that the reason for this secrecy was as a show of respect for Reigns, giving him the opportunity to tell everyone else on his terms.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was reportedly neither at RAW or on SmackDown LIVE this week but as was previously noted in an earlier headline, he remains heavily involved via conference call.
SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige was reportedly backstage at SmackDown this week, but was not used on camera since SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon returned. It was previously reported that Shane is expected to be back on TV a lot more regularly moving forward and one of the reasons he had stayed away was to allow Paige to establish herself as the authority figure.
WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus & Lita are reportedly in WWE’s plans to team up again in the future, perhaps at Survivor Series and/or WrestleMania. It would be an interesting development, if true, especially if WWE decides to move forward with The Women’s Tag Team Titles soon.
Both The Dean Ambrose heel turn and The Elias face turn were reportedly plans WWE had for the future but the unfortunate announcement that Roman Reigns delivered this past Monday night on RAW pretty much expedited those creative plans.
