Three Vikings Take First-Place At Jimmie Open

JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Redshirt freshman Michael Suda, sophomore Dylan Schuck, and junior Ben Kelvington all took home first-place titles in their respective weight classes on Saturday at the Jimmie Open in Jamestown, North Dakota.

Suda went 4-0 on the day and defeated UMary’s Lincoln Turman by major decision (13-4) in the finals to capture the 125-pound title. Suda also recorded a fall in his first round and won his second and third bouts 14-7, and 16-9, respectively.

Schuck went 5-0 on the day and recorded three falls and one tech fall en route to the 165-pound title. The sophomore defeated teammate Cade Mueller with a fall at 3:12 in the finals.

Kelvington went 4-0 and defeated teammate Tanner Brengle with a major decision (12-4) in the finals to take the 174-pound title. Klelvington also recorded a tech fall and another major decision, prior to the title round.

The Vikings also had four second-place finishers on the day Jack Huffman at 133 pounds, Jebben Keyes at 141 pounds, Cade Mueller at 165 pounds and Tanner Brengle at 174 pounds. Fourteen of the Viking’s wrestlers placed in the top five on the day.
