Raw has a new general manager, and it appears that we’re getting some movement between brands next week.
Vince McMahon made a rare televised appearance on the Raw after WrestleMania to announce a “superstar shake-up” for next week. He said that he had spoken with representatives from Raw and SmackDown, but showed footage of Stephanie McMahon getting put through a table at WrestleMania and said that she would be out of action for a while.
An article on WWE.com later revealed that the shake-up will allow Raw and SmackDown to “make trades, deals and other moves that they feel fit.”
With the storyline of tension between Stephanie and Mick Foley culminating in the removal of Foley from his duties, Vince noted that the show must go on and that Raw needed a new general manager. He announced Kurt Angle as the choice after teasing that it would be a recently inducted WWE Hall of Famer, which briefly brought out Teddy Long.
The appearance was the first time Angle has been on Raw in over a decade. While cutting a short promo, he said that it was great to be back.
