Disney Is Rebooting the Mickey Mouse Club—but There’s a Twist

Grab your ears, Mouseketeers, because Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club is coming back!

If you’re an ’80s or ’90s kid, you probably recall the most successful revival of the 1950s variety show—you know, the one that launched the careers of an entire generation of superstars, including Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell and Christina Aguilera.

Now, nearly 25 years later, Buzzfeed reports that Disney is rebooting the show in a Facebook-exclusive series, called Club Mickey Mouse. Other than the name, and the fact that it will air solely on Facebook, details on the reboot are pretty slim. According to Buzzfeed, the modern incarnation of the Disney classic will bring “the show into present-day with a diverse cast of talented young creators.”

So many questions remain. Will there be singing and dancing? What about the original theme song? What does J.T. think about this? And the one on everyone’s mind: is this the show that will launch the next generation of A-list celebs?

We’ll just have to wait and see.
