Johnson, 28, and Martin, 41, have been linked since mid-October when they were spotted sharing a meal at a Japanese restaurant in L.A. Though seen together several times in the past 7 months, the low-key couple has yet to make their red carpet debut.

Mama Melanie isn’t the first of Dakota’s famous fam to speak out about the relationship, though. In January, dad Don Johnson, too, joked with reporters about his daughter’s new boyfriend. “Yeah, that’s … uh troubling, isn’t it?” he said, before letting his eldest daughter off the hook: “No, she’s a big girl, she can handle herself!”
