Lucas Torreira stands alongside Nicklas Bendtner, Per Mertesacker and Mikael Silvestre in a surprising Arsenal derby goal club.
The Uruguayan has never been renowned for his ability to find the net, with his game more about keeping opponents out than troubling the goalkeeper at the opposite end of the field.
He did manage four goals for Sampdoria last season, but it was not those efforts which enticed Arsenal into a £26 million ($33m) deal.
Torreira was, however, to show in his latest outing that he can be relied upon to pop up with the odd goal.
Arsenal were already leading a topsy-turvy clash with Tottenham when the 22-year-old’s big moment arrived.
He had the final say in the 4-2 victory for the Gunners, which has stretched their unbeaten run to 19 games.
Torreira displayed admirable composure and finishing ability when crashing home Arsenal’s fourth. The strike was also his first since arriving in the Premier League last summer.
Only three men before him have opened their account for the club on derby day, with there some cult heroes on that list.
Torreira will be hoping to become more of a legend than a cult hero during his time at Emirates Stadium, and he has made a promising start in that quest.
He is considered to have been a shrewd addition by Unai Emery over the summer and has slotted seamlessly into new surroundings.
An impressive level of consistency has been displayed so far, and that is not a quality which was always shared by those who have scored their first Arsenal goal in the north London derby.
Danish frontman Bendtner was never short of confidence, but he often talked a better game than he played.
Silvestre had enjoyed the best years of his career at Manchester United before arriving in north London, while Mertesacker was a World Cup winner and club captain before retiring over the summer.
Torreira now stands alongside them and will be hoping to outshine all three with his exploits over the coming years.
