McCabe joins Brumbies board

Former Wallabies and Brumbies back Pat McCabe is set to join the club’s board.

McCabe replaces current Brumbies backrower Scott Fardy as the player’s representative director, the latest move in the club’s board shakeup.

After tension between directors and former CEO Michael Jones plagued the Brumbies last year, the club installed two new directors last October and were looking to change their term lengths and

“It is an honour to join the board of the Brumbies,” he said.

“Rugby has provided me with some of the best experiences of my life and taught me so much about myself both on and off the field.

“As a board member of the Brumbies, I hope to contribute to the success and sustainability of rugby in the ACT and the wider region and to ensure that more young men and women can share in those same values, friendships and experiences that I was so fortunate to have.

Chairman Robert Kennedy said he was pleased to add McCabe to the board.

“We are delighted that someone of the stature of Pat has agreed to join the board,”he said.

“Pat is well known throughout the rugby community and is a face that many Brumbies players, officials and supporters know and respect.

“He enjoyed a storied career at both club and international level and we look forward to having his knowledge and know-how as part of the Brumbies.”
